It has long been a Philharmonic tradition at the New Year to present a program consisting of the lively and at the same time nostalgic music from the vast repertoire of the family of Johann Strauß and its contemporaries. These concerts not only delight the audiences in the Musikverein in Vienna, but also enjoy great international popularity thanks to the worldwide broadcasts that now reach around 50 million viewers in more than 150 countries via television and streaming. The 2026 Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert takes place January 1, 2026, for the first time under the baton of Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna. The New Year's Concert is broadcast worldwide in over 150 countries via TV and stream and is watched by around 50 million viewers.
